John Leslie Prescott, Baron Prescott was born in Prestatyn, Wales. He is a British politician. He served as deputy leader of the Labour Party from 1994–2007 and as deputy prime minister under Tony Blair from 1997–2007. He represented Hull East as the Labour member of parliament from 1970 to 2010. He educated at Ruskin College and the University of Hull.
