Bob Matsui was born in Sacramento, California. He was an American politician from the state of California. Matsui was a member of the Democratic Party and served in the U.S. House of Representatives as the congressman for California's 5th congressional district until his death midway through his 14th consecutive term. Matsui graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1963 with a BA in political science, and then graduated from Hastings College of Law in 1966. He founded his own Sacramento law practice in 1967.
