John Berlinger Breaux was born in Crowley, Louisiana, USA. He is an American Democratic politician and lawyer. He served as the United States Senator from Louisiana (1987-2005). He also served as the US House of Representatives from Louisiana's 7th district (1972-1987). He earned a BA degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Lafayette in 1964. He earned a JD degree from Louisiana State University Law School, Baton Rouge in 1967. He served as a professor at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Since 2005, he has been a lobbyist for Washington, DC, firm Squire Patton Boggs, specializing in issues of health care and energy law.
