James Stanley Brakhage, better known as Stan Brakhage was born in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. He was an American non-narrative filmmaker. He is considered to be one of the most important figures in 20th-century experimental film. He studied at Dartmouth College. Brakhage's films are often noted for their expressiveness and lyricism. He directed several films include: Interim, In Between(First color film), Reflections on Black, Flesh of Morning, Anticipation of the Night, Dog Star Man: Prelude, The Art of Vision, Scenes from Under Childhood, The Garden of Earthly Delights, The Dante Quartet, I...
