He is an American politician who served five terms in the United States House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party from Tennessee's 9th congressional district from 1997 to 2007. Since 2011, Ford has worked for Morgan Stanley as a Managing Director. He earned a B.A. degree in American history from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. He earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1996.
