Richard Nelson Corliss is a writer for Time magazine who focuses on movies, with the occasional article on music or sports. Corliss is the former editor-in-chief of Film Comment. Talking Pictures, one of his three books as well as his writing for Time and other publications were some of the first writings to help draw attention to the role of the screenwriter, as opposed to the director, in the creation of movies.
