Debbie Reynolds was born in El Paso, Texas. She is an American actress, singer and dancer. Her breakout role was portraying Helen Kane in the 1950 film Three Little Words, for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Other notable successes include The Affairs of Dobie Gillis, Susan Slept Here, Bundle of Joy, The Catered Affair and Tammy and the Bachelor. She starred in How the West Was Won, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown, a biographical film about the famously boisterous Molly Brown. Her performance as Molly Brown earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In January 2015, she received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. Her song "Aba Daba Honeymoon" was a top-three hit in 1951. Her recording of the song "Tammy", earned her a gold record, and was the best-selling single by a female vocalist in 1957. In 1979, she opened her own dance studio in North Hollywood, California. In 1983 Reynolds released an exercise video titled Do It Debbie’s Way!.
