Johannes Rau was born in Wuppertal, Germany. He was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. He was President of Germany from 1999-2004, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1978-1998, and President of the Bundesrat from 1982-83. He served as a Mayor of Wuppertal from 1969-1970. He left school in 1949 and worked as a journalist and publisher. He is the author of book, entitled The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
