James De La Vega was born in East Harlem, New York City, New York, USA. He is an American visual artist. He is best known for his street aphorisms and muralist art. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University in 1994. He is a former art teacher at York Preparatory School. He is known as a community-inspiring artist. His street drawings are usually accompanied by aphoristic messages such as "Become Your Dream."
