James Marvin Ramstad was born in Jamestown, North Dakota, USA. He is an American Republican politician. He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Minnesota's 3rd congressional district from 1991-2009. He was a member of the Minnesota State Senate from 1981 to 1990. He earned a BA degree from the University of Minnesota in 1968. He earned a JD degree from George Washington University Law School in 1973.
