Frank Frederick Borman, II was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. He is a retired United States Air Force pilot, aeronautical engineer, test pilot, and NASA astronaut, best remembered as the Commander of Apollo 8, the first mission to fly around the Moon. After leaving NASA, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Eastern Air Lines from 1975 to 1986. He is a recipient of the Congressional Space Medal of Honor. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, in 1950. He received his Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1957. He completed the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program in 1970.
