John Joseph Travolta was born in Englewood, New Jersey, USA. He is an American actor, producer, dancer, singer, writer and pilot. He attended Dwight Morrow High School, but dropped out as a junior at age 17 in 1971. His role in several films include: Carrie, Saturday Night Fever (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Actor, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor), Grease (Nominated- Golden Globe Award for Best Actor), Staying Alive, The Experts, Eyes of an Angel, Pulp Fiction (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Actor), Get Shorty (Won- Golden Globe Award for Best Actor), Michael, She's So Lovely, Battlefield Earth (also producer), Swordfish, and From Paris with Love. His role in television include: The Tenth Level (TV film), Welcome Back, Kotter (TV series), The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (TV film), and Chains of Gold (TV film, also writer). In 2014, he received the IIFA Award for Outstanding Achievement in International Cinema. In 2016, he received his first Primetime Emmy Award as a producer of the first season of the anthology series American Crime Story.
