Ernest Gary Gygax was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was an American game designer and writer best known for co-creating with Dave Arneson the pioneering role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. Gygax has been described as the father of D&D. He wrote several books include: Saga of Old City(novel), The Keep on the Borderlands(novel), Against the Giants(novel), Come Endless Darkness(novel), The Samarkand Solution(novel), Infernal Sorceress(novel), Player's Handbook, and Dungeonland.
