Freddie Dalton Thompson was born in Sheffield, Alabama, USA. He was an American politician, actor, lawyer, lobbyist, columnist, and radio host. He served in the United States Senate representing Tennessee from 1994 to 2003. He served as chairman of the International Security Advisory Board at the United States Department of State. As an actor, he appeared in a number of movies and television shows as well as in commercials. He joined the cast of the long-running NBC television series Law & Order. He worked as an assistant U.S. attorney from 1969 to 1972. In 2006, he signed on with ABC News Radio to serve as senior analyst and vacation replacement for Paul Harvey. His role in several films include: Days of Thunder, No Way Out, Thunderheart, Born Yesterday, 90 Minutes in Heaven, and God's Not Dead 2. He earned a double degree in philosophy and political science from University of Memphis in 1964. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the Vanderbilt Law School in 1967.
