Jonathan Coe was born in Bromsgrove, England. He is an English novelist. He studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. He taught at the University of Warwick, where he completed an MA and a PhD in English Literature. He has written several novels include: The Accidental Woman, A Touch of Love, The Dwarves of Death, What a Carve Up!, The House of Sleep (Prix Médicis étranger Award), The Rotters' Club, The Closed Circle, The Rain Before It Falls, The Terrible Privacy of Maxwell Sim, Expo 58, and Number 11. His Non-fiction works include: Humphrey Bogart: Take it & Like it, and Like a Fiery Elephant (Baillie Gifford Prize).
