Craig Lyle Thomas was born in Cody, Wyoming. He was an American politician who served as United States Senator from Wyoming from 1995 to 2007. He was a member of the Republican Party. In the Senate, Thomas was considered an expert on agriculture and rural development. In 1984, he was elected from Casper to the Wyoming House of Representatives, in which he served until 1989. Thomas graduated from the University of Wyoming in Laramie with a degree in animal husbandry. He obtained a law degree from La Salle Extension University, though he did not list it on later official biographies.
