He is a former American football quarterback who played fourteen seasons in the National Football League, best known as the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots from 1993 to 2001. On April 11, 2007, Drew Bledsoe officially announced his retirement from the National Football League. In July 2012, Football Nation named Bledsoe as the 30th greatest quarterback in the post-merger era of the NFL.
