John Taylor Doolittle was born in Glendale, California, USA. He is an American Republican politician and lawyer. He served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California (1991-2009). In the 109th Congress, he held a leadership role as the Deputy Whip for the Republican party in the House. He served as a member of the California State Senate from 1984-1991. He earned a BA degree in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1972. He earned a law degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific at Sacramento in 1978.
