Henry Wilson was born in Farmington, New Hampshire, USA. He was the 18th Vice President of the United States from 1873–75 and a Senator from Massachusetts from 1855–73. In 1840 he was also elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives and served from 1841-1842. He was a member of the Massachusetts State Senate from 1844 to 1846 and 1850 to 1852. From 1851 to 1852 he was the Senate's President. He is the author of book, History of the Rise and Fall of the Slave Power in America.
