Henry Green was the nom de plume of Henry Vincent Yorke was born in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England. He was an English novelist. After completing his education at Eton and Oxford, he entered the family business, an engineering firm in Birmingham; he worked his way up to become the firm’s managing director in London. He wrote several novels include: Blindness, Living, Party Going, Caught, Loving, Back, Concluding, and Doting. An early autobiography, Pack My Bag, was published in 1940.
