Dorothy Stuart Hamill was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is an American skater. She is the 1976 Olympic champion in ladies' singles and the 1976 World champion. She attended and graduated from Colorado Academy high school. She wrote an autobiography titled On and Off the Ice. Her second autobiography A Skating Life: My Story, was published in October 2007 by Hyperion Press.
