Diane Lane was born in New York City, New York. She is an Oscar-nominated American actress. She made her screen debut in George Roy Hill's 1979 film A Little Romance, starring opposite Sir Laurence Olivier. She has since appeared in several notable films, including the 2002 film Unfaithful, which earned her nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Lane next appeared in the drama Every Secret Thing and the Pixar animated feature Inside Out. She is also involved in several charities, including Heifer International, which focuses on world hunger, and Artists for Peace and Justice, a Hollywood organization that supports Haiti relief.
