Jesse Francis "Jeff" Bingaman Jr. was born in El Paso, Texas, USA. He is an American Democratic politician and lawyer. He is a former United States Senator from New Mexico, serving from 1983 to 2013. He served as Chair of the Senate Energy Committee from 2007-2013. He was Attorney General of New Mexico from 1979 to 1983. He earned a BA degree in government from Harvard University in 1965. He earned an LLB degree from Stanford Law School in 1968. He married to Anne Kovacovich. They have one son.
