John Herbert Dillinger was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He was an American gangster and bank robber. He was known as "Jackrabbit" and "Public Enemy No. 1." He operated with a group of men known as the Dillinger Gang or Terror Gang, which was accused of robbing 24 banks and four police stations, among other activities. He escaped from jail twice. He was shot and killed by the special agents on July 22, 1934.
