Dianne Evelyn Wiest was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She is an American actress on stage, television and film. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1969 with a degree in Arts and Sciences. She has won two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. She has also been nominated for a BAFTA Award. In 1984, she starred in Footloose, as the reverend's wife and Ariel's mother. She also appeared in three other Woody Allen films: The Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days and September. In 2005, she starred in Kathleen Tolan's Memory House. She starred alongside Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival.
