Jessica Chastain was born in California, USA. She is an American actress and film producer. She studied at Sacramento City College. She graduated from Juilliard School in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2003. In 1998, she made her professional stage debut as Shakespeare's Juliet. She was a recurring guest star in several television shows, including Law & Order: Trial by Jury. Her role in several films include: Jolene, Take Shelter, The Tree of Life, The Help (Nomination- Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress), Zero Dark Thirty (Won- Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, Nomination- Academy Award for Best actress), The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby (also producer), Interstellar, The Martian, A Most Violent Year, and Miss Sloane. She is the founder of the production company Freckle Films, which was created to promote diversity in film. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012. She is married to Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo in 2017.
