Elizabeth Bibesco was born in london, UK. She was an English novelist, playwright, poet, and writer. She was the daughter of a British Prime Minister and the wife of a Romanian aristocrat. In 1919 she married Prince Antoine Bibesco, a Romanian diplomat stationed in London, a man 22 years her senior. Her collections of short stories were reviewed on both sides of the Atlantic and her novel The Fir and the Palm was serialised in the Washington Post during November and December 1924. Between 1921 and 1940, she published three collections of short stories, four novels, two plays and a book of poetry.
