Joe Klein was born in New York City, New York, USA. He is an American author, novelist and political columnist for Time magazine. He graduated with a degree in American civilization from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also written articles and book reviews for The New Republic, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Life, and Rolling Stone. He was a contributing editor for Rolling Stone from 1975 to 1980, and Washington bureau chief from 1975 to 1977. He has written several books include: Woody Guthrie: A Life (biography), Primary Colors (novel), The Running Mate (novel), The Natural: The Misunderstood Presidency of Bill Clinton (biography), and Politics Lost.
