Hope Emerson was born in Hawarden, Iowa, USA. She was an American actress. Following her graduation from West High School in Des Moines in 1916, she moved to New York City, where she performed in vaudeville. Her role in several films include: Adam's Rib, Cry of the City, Westward the Women, and Caged(nomination-Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress). Her role in television include: It's a Great Life, Peter Gunn(received an Emmy nomination), and The Dennis O'Keefe Show. She also sang and performed in nightclubs.
