Jim Gerlach was born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, USA. He is an American Republican politician. He served as the U.S. House of Representative from Pennsylvania's 6th congressional district from 2003 to 2015. He was elected to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives in 1991. He was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in 1995. He earned a BA degree in Political Science from Dickinson College in 1977. He earned his law degree from Dickinson School of Law in 1980. He married to Karen. They have three children.
