John Edward Walsh Jr. was born in New York, USA. He is an American television personality, private investigator, anti-crime advocate, actor and the host of America's Most Wanted. He is known for his anti-crime activism, with which he became involved following the murder of his son, Adam, in 1981; in 2008, the late serial killer Ottis Toole was named as the killer of Walsh's son. He was part owner of the now defunct Museum of Crime & Punishment in Washington, D.C. He also anchors an investigative documentary series, The Hunt with John Walsh, which debuted on CNN in 2014. He studied at the University at Buffalo. His role in several films include: Wrongfully Accused and Falling for Grace. His role in television include: Special Bulletin (TV film) and Celebrity (TV Mini-Series). He has written several books include: Tears of Rage (True crime, with Susan Schindehette), No Mercy (with Philip Lerman), and Public Enemies (with Philip Lerman).
