Jenny Eclair was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is an English comedian and novelist, best known for her roles in Grumpy Old Women (TV series) between 2004-2007 and in Loose Women (Panel show) in 2011-2012. She has written several novels include: Camberwell Beauty, Having a Lovely Time, and Life, Death and Vanilla Slices. She has written other books include: The Book of Bad Behaviour (non fiction) and Grumpy Old Couples (with Judith Holder). Her other role in television include: Packet of Three (comedy TV series) and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (comedy-drama TV programme). In 1995, she is the first female solo winner of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival's Perrier Comedy Award.
