Elton William Gallegly was born in Huntington Park, California, USA. He is an American politician. He was a U.S. Representative, last serving California's 24th congressional district, and previously the 23rd and 21st, serving in Congress from 1987 to 2013. He is a member of the Republican Party. He worked as a real estate broker before entering politics. He was Simi Valley's first elected mayor in 1982.
