Brandy Norwood was born in McComb, Mississippi. She is an American actress and singer. The daughter of a church pastor and singer, she was just 15 when she released her self-titled debut album, which featured the monster hit "I Wanna Be Down." Over the years, Brandy has branched off into acting and producing, in addition to recording several other successful studio albums. She released her third album, Full Moon, in 2003—the same year that she had her first child, a daughter named Sy'rai Iman Smith, with then-boyfriend Robert Smith, a music producer. Her work has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award, three American Music Awards, and seven Billboard Music Awards.
