Jiang Zemin was born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China. He is a retired Chinese politician who served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China from 1989 to 2002. He served as President of the People's Republic of China from 1993 to 2003. He served as Mayor of Shanghai from 1985-1987. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1947. He married Wang Yeping in 1949. They have two sons, Jiang Mianheng and Jiang Miankang.
