James Gresham Barrett was born in Westminster, South Carolina, USA. He is an American republican politician who was the United States Representative for South Carolina's 3rd congressional district from 2003 to 2011. He was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1997 to 2003. He graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 1983. He is married to Natalie Barrett and has three children.
