Connie Inge-Lise Nielsen was born in Frederikshavn, Denmark. She is a Danish actress whose first major role in an English language film was a supporting role in The Devil's Advocate. She starred as Meredith Kane on the Starz TV series Boss and was a lead character in the second season of The Following. In 2000, Nielsen became known to worldwide audiences as Lucilla in Scott's Academy Award–winning film Gladiator, starring opposite Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.
