Joel Rueben Madden was born in Waldorf, Maryland, USA. He is an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is the lead vocalist for pop punk band Good Charlotte and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. He is also part of the pop rock collaboration The Madden Brothers with his twin brother Benji Madden. He studied at La Plata High School, La Plata, Maryland. He had a cameo role in the 2004 film Fat Albert and in the 2006 film Material Girls with his brother Benji.
