Jeremy Taylor was born in Cambridge, England. He was a cleric in the Church of England who achieved fame as an author during the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell. He earned a BA degree and an MA degree from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University. He is remembered in the Church of England's calendar of saints with a Lesser Festival on 13 August. He was under the patronage of William Laud, Archbishop of Canterbury. He wrote several books include: A Discourse of the Liberty of Prophesying, The Rule and Exercises of Holy Living, The Rule and Exercises of Holy Dying, The Wisdom of Your Dreams, Dream Work, and The Living Labyrinth.
