Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. He was an American lawyer best known for his leadership role in the defense and criminal acquittal of O.J. Simpson for the murder of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. He earned a BA degree in business economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1959. He earned a JD degree from the Loyola Law School, Loyola Marymount University in 1962. After passing the bar in 1963, he took a job in Los Angeles as a deputy city attorney in the criminal division. He wrote several books include: Journey to Justice and A lawyer's life.
