He was the 2006 Republican nominee for U.S. Senator from New York and lost to incumbent Democrat Hillary Clinton. He studied at Westchester Community College, Valhalla, New York. He joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He holds the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star.
