Cathy Anne McMorris Rodgers was born in Salem, Oregon. She is an American politician and since 2005 has been the U.S. Representative for Washington's 5th congressional district, which includes Spokane and the eastern third of the state. She is a member of the Republican Party. Currently, she is the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress, serving as the Chairman of the House Republican Conference. In 1990 she received a BA in Pre-law from Pensacola Christian College, a then-unaccredited Independent Baptist liberal arts college. McMorris Rodgers subsequently earned an Executive MBA from the University of Washington in 2002.
