Elbert Green Hubbard was born in Bloomington, Illinois, USA. He was an American writer, publisher, and philosopher. Presently Hubbard is known best as the initiator of the Roycroft artisan community in East Aurora, New York, a realization of the Arts and Crafts philosophy.
