John Rosemond was born in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. He is an American psychologist, columnist and author on parenting. His weekly parenting column is syndicated in approximately 225 newspapers. He earned a master's degree in Community Psychology from Western Illinois University in 1971. From 1971 to 1980, he worked as a psychologist and program director at various mental health centers in Illinois, Iowa, and North Carolina. From 1980 to 1990, he was in private practice as a family psychologist.
