John Wesley Dean III was born in Akron, Ohio, USA. He is an American author, columnist, lecturer and lawyer who served as White House Counsel for United States President Richard Nixon from 1970-1973. In this position, he became deeply involved in events leading up to the Watergate burglaries and the subsequent Watergate scandal cover-up. He earned a BA degree in English and Political Science from College of Wooster in 1961. He earned a JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1965. After graduation, he joined Welch & Morgan, a law firm in Washington, D.C. He served as associate director of the National Commission on Reform of Federal Criminal Laws for approximately two years. He has written several books include: Blind Ambition, Lost Honor, The Rehnquist Choice, Unmasking Deep Throat, Worse than Watergate, Conservatives without Conscience, Broken Government, and The Nixon Defense. He has been strongly critical of former President George W. Bush and incumbent President Donald Trump.
