John Ajvide Lindqvist was born in Blackeberg, Sweden. He is a Swedish writer, mostly of horror novels and short stories. Before becoming a published writer, he worked for 12 years as a magician and stand-up comedian. He has written several books include: Let the Right One In (novel), Handling the Undead (novel), Pappersväggar (collection of short stories), Harbour (novel), Little Star (novel), Itsy Bitsy (short story), Let the Old Dreams Die (novel), Seize the Night (novel, with Kelley Armstrong, Laird Barron, and Gary A. Braunbeck), and I Am Behind You (novel). He has written a film, entitled Let the Right One In. He received many awards, including Selma Lagerlöf Prize, Guldbagge Award for Best Screenplay (film: Let the Right One In), and Chlotrudis Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (film: Let the Right One In).
