Margaret JoBeth Williams was born in Houston, Texas, USA. She is an American actress. Since 2009, she has served as president of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. She earned a BA degree in English from Pembroke College in Brown University in 1970. Her role in several films include: Stir Crazy, Poltergeist, Teachers, The Big Chill, Desert Bloom, Welcome Home, Victim of Love, Jungle 2 Jungle, Fever Pitch, Timer, The Big Year, and Barracuda. Her role in television include: Adam (TV film, Nominated- Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress), Frasier (Nominated- Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series), A Chance of Snow (TV film), Payne (TV series), In My Dreams (TV film), and Your Family or Mine (comedy series).
