Joan Ann Plowright, commonly known as Dame Joan Plowright was born in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, England. She is an English actress whose career has spanned over six decades. She studied at Scunthorpe Grammar School and trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
