She studied at St Mary's Platt Primary School, Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School, Hastings High School for Girls, and Bexhill College. She earned a nursing degree from Brunel University. She then worked as a psychiatric nurse for ten years. Her role in several films include: Human Traffic, Stephen Fry (documentary), Clubland (only screenwriter), Horrid Henry, and The More You Ignore Me (also writer).
