Jerry Della Femina was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. He is an American advertising executive and restaurateur. He studied at Lafayette High School and Brooklyn College. He worked for two and a half years at Delehanty, Kurnit & Geller, and then became a creative supervisor at Ted Bates Advertising. In 1967, he started his own agency, Della Femina Travisano & Partners, founding it with Ron Travisano in the 1960s. The agency was also known for its work on Isuzu, Beck's Beer, Chemical Bank, Dow Brands, and Pan Am. He sold his agency in 1986 and left it in June of 1992. During his six-month sabbatical from the advertising industry, he opened two hugely successful restaurants and a popular food market in East Hampton, New York. He has written several books include: From those wonderful folks who gave you Pearl Harbor, and An Italian grows in Brooklyn. Advertising Age named him one of the "100 most influential advertising people of the century".
